The widow of slain Muslim cleric Sheikh Aboud Rogo has been charged with failing to disclose information that could have prevented the terror attack on the Central Police Station in Mombasa.
Hania Said Sagar denied the charge on Friday before Senior Principal Magistrate Diana Mochache.
The charge states that Ms Sagar knew Tasnim Yakub Abdullahi Farah, the mastermind of the foiled terror attack, but failed to disclose the information to authorities.
The police said the offence was committed on September 5 at Kanamai, Kilifi County.
They said there were financial transactions between the two and that Ms Sagar is being investigated for funding terrorism.
In an affidavit, prosecutors claim the suspect communicated with Ms Yakub prior to the attack.
Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions Alexander Muteti urged the court to deny the suspect bond.
Mr Muteti also asked the court to detain Ms Sagar for five more days to allow police to complete their investigations.
The magistrate deferred the case to September 26, when a decision on the application for bond and the detention-extension request will be made.
