LUWEERO MAN HACKED TO DEATH BY SUSPECTED GOAT THIEVES

Police in Luweero are investigating circumstances under which a man was on Thursday morning hacked to death by suspected thugs.
Fred Musisi, 50, the defence secretary of Bukuma Local Council I in Luweero Sub-county was reportedly killed as he tried to rescue his goat which had been stolen at his home on New Year's Day at around 2:00am.


According to Ms Peruth Nakibuuka, the wife of the deceased, they were sleeping when they heard the kitchen door being broken. The deceased rushed out of the main house to confront the thugs in an attempt to rescue the family goat but he was overpowered and killed.
"My husband was dragged to a nearby bush by the suspected thieves as we tried to make an alarm. The thieves used pangas to hack him. The residents who heard the alarm found my husband lying dead in a pool of blood,” Ms Nakibuuka said on Thursday morning.
Luweero District Police Commander Mr Justus Asiimwe told the Daily Monitor that police was investigating the incidence to establish the real motive of the murder. 
“We are trying to trail the suspects and also gather information from residents to ascertain the motive of the murder,” said Mr Asiimwe.
