The Rwanda People’s Party statement on the present violence in Jerusalem

Today (18/11/14) we learned of the cold blooded murders of five Jews in a Synagogue. In the same attack eight people were injured, four of them critically.
All right minded people will condemn this act of terrorism. The Rwanda People’s Party condemns unequivocally this and all acts of terrorism and urges an end to the present cycle of violence in the Holy City of Jerusalem. On behalf of myself and of my Party I wish to extend my heartfelt sympathy to the Israeli government and the family and friends of all those who died in the attack and my deepest sympathy to those injured.

The present cycle of violence must stop before it goes out of control and to avoid a general conflict between Jew and Muslim.

The Rwanda People’s Party, call upon both Jews and Palestinians (both sides in the conflict) to act in a responsible manner and do everything in their power not to make the situation worse. We urge the Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu not to take any retaliatory actions against the Palestinian people following the Synagogue attack that could inflame the situation further. We also call upon the Jewish State to do everything in its power to bring the killers of an innocent Palestinian bus driver to justice. I and my party, the RPP pray for the Palestinian families who lost loved ones in the recent violence. The Israeli government must lift restrictions on the Al Aqsa Mosque, this would greatly contribute to easing tensions. The Palestinians must do all they can to stop terrorists from attacking Jewish targets. We urge each side to commit peacefully to living side by side, in mutual and sharing Jerusalem.

Both sides, Israel and the Palestinian Authority must recognize the rights of the others. The RPP urges each side to commit peacefully to living side by side, in mutual and sharing Jerusalem. The International Community should stop playing politics when the lives of people are at stake. We believe that no amount of wars, terrorism and destruction of lives and property, can ever break the spirits, dreams and aspirations of two people who seek sovereign and Independents states for Jews and Palestine.

The international community should encourage both sides to go back to the peace negotiations. The RPP believes that only through negotiations will both sides be able to live in peace. The international community should also recognize the Palestine Authority as a state. The Two State Solution, is the only way forward in the Middle East conflict. (The Two State Solution is the only viable solution that can manage to put to an end decades of the harrowing conflict in the Middle East conflict. There is no doubt, whatsoever, not to believe that the creation of Jewish and Palestinian states cannot become reality and indeed in the interests of peace they are both necessities. Hence, any delays in the recognition of Palestine as an Independent State, is an incredible misjudgment a massive failures on the part of the International community. This will only continue to pro-long the horrific suffering of both Jews and he Palestine people)

The international community should also recognize Jerusalem as the capital of both Israel and Palestine. The African Union should open up diplomatic channels to both parties in the dispute in order to encourage a peaceful settlement.

The Rwanda People’s Party supports any negotiations that will bring peace and stability to the Middle East.

May God bring peace to both Jews and the Palestinians people.

Thanks you
