The late Henry Mutebi Kityo

President Museveni has praised deceased former Member of Parliament for
Mawokota South Constituency Henry Mutebi Kityo for promoting
agriculture in the country.
In his condolence message read by
minister of Trade, Amelia Kyambadde on Monday, the President described
the deceased as a nationalist who fought hard to uplift the living
standards of Ugandans through agriculture.
During his lifetime,
Kityo spearheaded the formation of several farmers’ associations in the
country including Uganda National Farmers’ Association.

Lubyayi Sseguya, the MP Mawokota South, commended Mr Kityo for his
efforts in transforming the economic status of people in the
constituency through training workshops which enabled farmers appreciate
agriculture as their main source of household income.
“We will
always remember his care, advice and love he had for us all. In fact,
our husband, was a man of all seasons,” Ms Betty Kityo, one of the
widows said.
Mr Charles Ogang, the president Uganda National Farmers’ Association, said the agriculture sector has lost an “asset.”
Kityo died last Saturday at Nkozi Hospital after battling diabetes and high blood pressure for more than 10 years.
