The High Court has temporarily suspended Water Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa's decision to dissolve the National Irrigation Board (NIB).
An activist, Felix Kiprono, on Monday sued the minister, his principal secretary, the Attorney-General and the board's acting CEO Gitonga Mugambi.

Mr Kiprono says the minister acted contrary to section 7 of the State Corporations Act and usurped the powers of the President.
On May 13, when Mr Wamalwa dissolved the beleaguered board, its former CEO Daniel Barasa resigned and was replaced by Mr Mugambi.
The board has been dogged by allegations of misappropriation of funds in procurement as well as misconduct.
