COMMUNICATION FOR DEVELOPMENT TRAINING - ACCRA, GHANA 16-19 OCTOBER 2017 (POTENTIAL PARTICIPANTS)

Dear Colleagues,

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) with the technical collaboration of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) is organizing a Communication for Development (ComDev) training workshop inAccra, Ghana from 16 to 19 October 2017.

The training workshop aims at strengthening the capacities and skills of communication practitioners, media, agricultural support services, farmers’ organizations, civil society organizations (CSOs), indigenous peoples (IPs), and other key development stakeholders, to effectively analyze rural communication issues, identify opportunities and challenges and to work collaboratively, coherently and consistently with other development specialists and beneficiaries.

There are no registration fees to attend the workshop however, participants are expected to cover their own travel, meals and accommodation. The organizers will provide meeting materials, documents and refreshments. Due to the limited number of available places, participants will be chosen through a selection process based on a number of criteria such as professional background, affiliation, gender, geographic representation, personal motivation etc. Therefore early registration is strongly recommended.

Financial support is available for a limited number of participants. Interested individuals should apply for financial support by sending an e-mail to the organizers along with the registration form, a copy of their CV and a letter of recommendation from their employer, organization or academic institution.

L'Organisation des Nations Unies pour l'Alimentation et l'Agriculture (FAO), avec la collaboration technique du Conseil de la Recherche Scientifique et Industrielle (CSIR), organise un atelier de formation en Communication pour le Développement (ComDev) à Accra, Ghana, du 16 au 19 octobre 2017.

L'atelier vise à renforcer la capacité et les compétences des chargés de communication, des médias, des services d’appui conseil agricole, des organisations de producteurs, des organisations de la société civile (OSC), des peuples autochtones (IP) et d'autres acteurs clés du développement, afin d'analyser les problèmes dans la communication rurale, identifier les opportunités et les défis et travailler de manière collaborative et cohérente avec d'autres bénéficiaires et spécialistes du développement.

Il n'y a aucun frais d'inscription pour participer à l'atelier, toutefois les frais d'hébergement, repas et voyage sont à la charge des participants. Les organisateurs fourniront les documents de l’atelier, des publications et des rafraîchissements. En raison du nombre limité de places disponibles, les participants seront choisis par un processus de sélection basé sur des critères tels que le profil professionnel, l'affiliation, le genre, la représentation géographique, la motivation personnelle, etc. Par conséquent, il est fortement recommandé de s'inscrire à l'avance.

Un appui financier est disponible pour un nombre limité de participants. Les personnes intéressées devraient envoyer une demande de soutien financier aux organisateurs avec le formulaire d'inscription, une copie de leur CV et une lettre de recommandation de leur employeur, organisation ou université.
